Welcome to Serendipity German Shepherd Dog Rescue

Welcome to Serendipity German Shepherd Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit, 100% volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of German Shepherd Dogs who have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Based in St. Louis, Missouri we do our best to assist dogs throughout the entire Midwest states area. If our program is full, we network with other German Shepherd rescue agencies and help transport dogs to safety in their programs.

We do not have a shelter facility! Our rescue dogs are welcomed as a member of the family in foster homes throughout the States of Missouri and Illinois where they stay until they have been fully vetted, evaluated, and a new family found for them. The foster home assists us in the evaluation of the dog to make sure they are found a home that meets their individual needs and personalities.

When a dog enters our program, they are examined by a veterinarian and receive vaccinations, de-worming, neuter or spay surgery, microchip implant, are tested for heartworm disease (and treated if necessary), and we address any other medical needs that each dog may have as individuals. Our adoption fees offset part of the cost of providing the dogs with this high standard of veterinary care.

Thank you for your interest in German Shepherd Dog Rescue, and we hope you enjoy our website!

Update on Nola

Nola-SmallWe are so delighted to announce that puppy Nola has made a full recovery from Parvovirus. Our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who sent a contribution to her veterinary expenses, who wrote and asked after her and added a prayer for her. Nola is once again a spunky, naughty but adorable little puppy.

Update: Great news! Nola has found her forever family and has been adopted. Thanks again to all of Nola's supporters!
