Roxie, aptly nicknamed “Monster,” is a GSD/Malinois/Rottie mix who found herself surrendered to the Humane Society of Missouri multiple times before finding her real family. Zeke, tagged with many nicknames involving the word “bunny,” is a White GSD and SGSDR alumnus who landed in Gidget’s home as her foster dog … and never left.
Why She Volunteers in Rescue
As Gidget puts it, “If the Rainbow Bridge is real, I’m going to be mobbed when I arrive—I will be buried beneath a pile of fur and paws!
From my childhood beagle, Charlie, to my first GSD (an abused puppy named Miko) to my current crazy goons, I’ve been blessed by a legion of animal companions in my life—most of whom had been given up on or thrown away.
I rescue in their honor. I rescue to pay it forward to the next dog—and the next and the next. I’ll never stop being an animal rescuer, in one form or another. It’s how I say ‘thank you’ to all of those beautiful souls.”
