Adopted in 2008.

Ted and I adopted Sophie June 1, 2008. She came to us recovering from heartworm, thin at a mere 59 lbs., and without a lot of energy. For the first couple of weeks we were concerned about how disinterested she was at meal times. We were accustomed to Bailey, our beagle mix’s appetite. Now we’re thrilled to tell you she is 67 lbs., can’t wait for breakfast or dinner, and her energy level is envious!

Six weeks after adopting Sophie, we moved to Troy. Now she and Bailey have 3 acres to enjoy. Initially, Sophie experienced some separation anxiety, but long walks and basic obedience have proven to ease transitions for her. She is still learning manners and tries SO hard to please! She loves to go for rides in the car and loves walking in Cuivre River Park. Next summer I hope to have her certified for TOUCH therapy so she can accompany me for visits to Nursing Homes.

We can’t imagine life without her. Thanks to everyone at Serendipity for your work. You are all special people.
